Our Story

Furloughed from work in the middle of a global pandemic, Amy wandered into her local charity shop looking to fill a few hours a week volunteering for a good cause. Never one to turn down a freebie, Paul quickly took advantage of her kind nature and had her “working” full-time. Some socially distanced walks and an “is this a date or not?” visit to a vegan market followed, and before long love started to blossom.

Fast forward four years and here we are planning our special day, which will take place on the anniversary of that trip to the vegan market and, not coincidentally, on an international football weekend when Arsenal definitely won’t be playing!

Below are a few photos from some of our favourite moments so far.

We hope you’ll be able to join us to create more special memories.

Hertford is a small town in the east of Hertfordshire, near to the border with Essex.

There are good transport links by road and rail.

The main routes into Hertford by road are as follows:

From the A1(M)
Take Junction 4 and follow the the A414 all the way into Hertford, or take Junction 7 and follow the A602 and then A119.

From the A10
From both directions, leave the A10 at Rush Green roundabout and follow the A414 to the Town Centre.

There is a multi-storey pay and display car park just behind the Hummingbird.

Hertford has two stations:

Hertford East
Just a 3-4 minute walk from The Hummingbird, trains into Hertford East are operated by Greater Anglia and start in London at Liverpool Street.

Hertford North
Around 18-20 minutes away on foot, trains through Hertford North are operated by Great Northern and start at Moorgate.

Trains run frequently to both. Journey times from central London are around 50-55 minutes.
